Conservative ba si Jesus noong panahon Nya?


Never! Yung mga Pharisee, Sadducees, priests, teachers of the Law—yung mga kalaban Nya—ang conservative. If Jesus were with us today, He won’t be among the conservatives. He won’t be wearing conservative attire. Like He did then, He would be with the social and moral outcasts because He is a “friend of sinners.”

Blood was considered life in the Old Testament and was forbidden as food. But the New Testament declared that all foods sold in the meat market could be eaten. Was blood ever sold in the meat market in the Old Testament? Walang record na ganito sa Old Testament, so gray area. Pero malinaw sa New Testament na lahat ng pwede mong kainin na nabibili sa palengke ay puwedeng kainin.   Kapag bumili tayo ng meat, sa totoo lang, wala namang guarantee na ito’y 100% na walang dugo. Masama bang magninang/magninong sa binyag at sa kasal ang isang born-again?

Isang maselang bagay! Ang kaselanan ng bagay na ito’y cultural. Tayong mga Pilipino ay maka-kamag-anak, mahilig makipagkapwa at mahilig makipagkaibigan. Part of our culture yung positive na pakikisama. Noong dumating yung Protestantism, because they don’t have child baptism, itinuro ng mga missionaries sa atin yung napaka-simplistic approach na ‘Humiwalay kayo, huwag nyong gawin. Kasi hindi nila nauunawaan sa ating kultura yung Anakin mo yung nagpapaanak sa’yo. Lalo’t pamangkin mo, pinsan mo, etc., etc. Hindi ganun kasimple. Sa culture nila na individualistic, kaya nilang sikmurain yon.
