Kailan ba ang Sabbath? Linggo ba yun? Saturday ba yun? You know what the word Sabbath means? Seventh. When you count starting from Sunday, ang seventh nyo, Saturday. When you count starting from Monday, ang Sabbath nyo nagiging Sunday. Eh, kung nag-count kayo starting ng Thursday? Eh di, Wednesday. What I’m trying to say is, hindi naman sinabi ng Diyos na ang Sabbath ay araw ng Sabado o araw ng Linggo. Sabi niya sa Exodus 20:9,10. Six days you shall work and the seventh is a Sabbath in the Lord. Meaning? Kung nagtatrabaho ako mula Miyerkules, eh di ang Sabbath ko, dapat Martes!
What God is concerned with is not the schedule of the Sabbath but what should happen in the Sabbath—that you should break every six days of work with one day of rest, that you should not abuse yourself.
God likes us to break six days of work with a day of rest. Does it matter when? Do you think God, in His greatness, is concerned about when? He just likes you to rest. That’s really the point. So just take a break. Huwag mag-giyera about the exact day. Exactness especially on time issues is a modern-day syndrome.
