Know Your Mission In Life

It is very interesting to note what the Lord, talking to the Father, said.

John 17:4 I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.

What did the Lord have to show in order to be able to say he has completed his tasks? May labindalawa siyang disciples, nagtaksil pa yung isa. A group of 70 secondary people was his next sphere of influence. The greatest number that remained with the Lord was 120. Yung woman that was caught in adultery? Yung lalaking possessed by legions of demons?
Pero ang sabi ng Lord, “I have completed the work that you gave me to do.” Bakit? Because the Lord knew his calling. Ang calling ng Lord was not to personally convert every human being on the planet. Ang calling ng Lord was to heal every leper or deaf or sick person. Ang calling nya was to train and to teach 12 disciples, to live a sinless life and to die a sacrificial death for men. Alam nya ang calling nya. Kaya nang nagampanan na nya ito at nang mamamatay na Siya sa krus, ang sabi Niya, “It is finished.” Tapos na. You know why He can say with satisfaction that His job was completed? He knew what His job was!
Baka sakaling maraming matumbok. Pwede na.
Are we trying to be everybody and everything? If that is the case, we will only overspeed and we will miserably fail. Do not be presumptuous of God’s protection. The Lord is the author of natural law which we must respect. Natural law tells us that if we don’t eat, magugutom tayo. Let’s not be presumptuous. The Lord can take care of us but it is not the Lord’s obligation to rescue us if we run outside the law of nature. Remember, God is the author of nature and so, natural law must be respected.
Overspeeding robs us of a lot of happiness because we leave many loved ones behind. It causes us unhappiness because we miss the chance to love and be loved, to be kind and to receive kindness, to appreciate the beauty of creation. Lagi kasi tayong nagmamadali kaya hindi na tayo nagkaroon ng pagkakataon to appreciate the sunrise or sunset, the blooming of a flower, yung hamog sa damuhan, yung tunog ng alon na humahampas sa breakwater.
Do not overspeed. Maraming mga magulang ang sobra kung mag-overspeed. Gustong yumaman kaagad. If you turn your back on them by overspeeding in trying to make a living, when you return, chances are you will have juvenile delinquents in your house. Ang you will never be the same again. Then you will forever pine for lost time.
