Kaya siguro isa sa Ten Commandments yung “Six days you shall
labor” ay dahil people who work have more capacity to be happy. The human body
was designed in such a way that it should work and move to the point that if it
doesn’t, it atrophies. Ano’ng mangyayari sa’yo? Humihina ang iyong mga buto,
mga laman hanggang mamaya hindi ka na
makaka-function.
Kasi kailangang mayroon kang ginagawa. Maraming taong
miserable kasi idle. Walang ginagawa o kaunting-kaunti lang ang ginagawa. We
should not be idle. We should work for the good.
Sa first cyle, you work because your parents expect you to.
Pinag-aaral ka. Binibigyan ka ng trabaho. “maghugas ka ng plato. Do your bed.
Do this and that.” You work para hindi ka mapagalitan. Then ga-graduate ka. You
Doon kailangan nagte-third cyle ang tao in this life. Kung pinahaba
ng Lord ang buhay natin, you work for the good. You work for pleasure. You work
because it’s good for you and it’s good for others. No longer because you have
to survive. I believe that the design of God is that men could work hard and
prosper enough so that in the latter part of their lives, they will have the
luxury to choose what work they like to do, what makes them very happy and
useful to their fellowmen, to their church and country. That is why it is
important to work for the good.
It’s pathetic if we’re sill working to survive hanggang sa
namamatay na lang tayo, it’s our option to do this or that.
Parang
nakakasira ng dignity yun ng tao. Kaya mahalaga ang sabi nung kanta, “ A man
must break his back to earn his days of pleasure.” Para dumating yung point
that you can do what is good.
