Do Not Seek and Love Power

Do not seek and love power especially power over people. History is replete with men and women who had nearly absolute power. But how did they end their earthly life? Kaya sabi sa 1Peter 5:3, wag tayong magnasa na maging panginoon n gating kapwa because power over other people corrupts. While power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. It’s always good to have checks and balances
What happens to people when they can do nearly everything they want to do? They self-destruct. Look at how the Roman Empire destroyed itself because of its excesses. Look at how nearly all civilizations reache an apex of prominence and wealth only to self-destruct. Poverty can purify the soul more that wealth can. That is why evern the lack of many things can become a blessing. People without taste but with money can affored bad taste. It’s terrible. Even Lucifer was corrupted because he was brilliant. Power corrupts.
Ezekiel 28:17
You corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor.

Sila’y winawasak nito. Ano ang dapat nating gawin? Seek spiritual power to control and subdue oneself.

Romans 7:18-19
I have the desire to do what is good but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.

And this was Paul speaking.

Romans 7:24-25
What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Galatians 5:23 also points out that the fruit of the Holy Spirit, among others, is self-control. A person who can control himself by the grace of God is a person that can shape his destiny. Self-control is important. Even Paul says in 1Corinthians 9:27—I beat my body and make it my slave. Can you imagine making your body a slave? We have to beat the body and make it our slave because the body becomes the entry point to the dark side, so to speak.
